On the Page

Whether for the page or the stage Deborah Kimmett loves being a writer. At 22 years of age she started working at the Second City in Toronto and went on to write and direct shows for the next twenty years. She was staff writer for the W network,  for Steve Smith of Red Green fame. Wrote for Madly Off in All Directions, Sunday Show Showcase, The Debaters, and most recently her new comedy show for CBC Radio, Laugh out Loud.

In 1994, she was nominated for a Governor General Award for her play, Miracle Mother. Currently she writes for magazines such as  Canadian Living. And Kingston Life where she was nominated for the 2009 National Magazine Awards for her article on Blind Dating. She has just sent her first novel Almost True to a publisher for consideration.
