“When my Dad was dying at home, I went into his room and asked him if he needed anything. With a weak voice, he said, “I can smell your Mom’s cooking. I’d love to taste one of her deserts one more time.” And when I came back in he asked me why I was empty-handed. And I said, “Mom says you can’t have any, because they are for the funeral.”
