This is Why I Love Doing The Annual Mother's Day Show

Every year for some years now I have been doing a Mother’s Day Show, partly because I found the Hallmark version of Mother’s Day challenging. Each year we hear from different comics, and storytellers about their relationship to the word mom. By hearing their stories I was able to honour the relationship with my mom in a new way. Each year we do some good and raise some money either for Sistering or We Matter. This year instead of donating cash to an organization we are donating to a MOTHER who is a MOTHER of all mothers. A woman who gives back to the community, who mothers people in her circles with kindness and love. A Mother to All. And this year we have chosen an amazing woman.

This year the show is sponsored by Howl and Roar Records which has produced both albums of mine. I am pairing again with an ultra-talented singer Barb Johnston. Last year’s show online ( which is still for sale) Known to Toronto audiences as Jingle Babz, she tours the world with her Spice Girls Tribute Band and has some great songs to sing that will have us all singing along. Her Dad Bob Johnston ( who co-wrote Anne and Gilbert will be playing along)

We have the gifted comic, Isabel Zaw Tun. Three readers from my memoir writing class, talent agent Bella Grundy, Resource Teacher Carolyn Hart and a woman who has worked at the U.N Immaculae Uwanyiligiri.
