What is going on with your muse?

You and she once had a great thing going!

Now is she avoiding you completely?

Well your writing muse is like any other relationship. You have to make time to nurture it if its going to stay healthy.

You can’t just expect her to give you great ideas if you only slot her in between the shampoo and conditioner.

 She needs your time.

No, nothing fancy. You don’t have to make elaborate plans to go away for the weekend. Or wait till life gets calmer so you can have quality time.

You can start spending  time with her now.

Seven minutes is all she is asking for.

Seven minutes to put your butt on the chair and move the pen across the page.

Seven minutes when you stop texting, stop looking at the screen and listen to her rich ideas.

You don’t need to vacuum first or have a shower. Or wait till you make money to show her what a big shot you are!

The muse is not a complicated gal.

You’re the one she wants. She wants seven minutes with you putting your pen on the page.

Seven minutes to work on your relationship with her. Seven minutes and you will find you will find your  muse  has a few things to say. At first she might stutter and shed  a few tears. Then she really gets going, and you will see why you fell in love with her in the first place.

Give her seven minutes — start to hear your story. Not mine. Not something that is on TV. But your unique story told in your own unique voice.

No, the muse hasn’t been her  screening her calls. It’s been you.

Let me reassure you this method has worked for me for 3 decades and it can work for you.

My muse and I are about to celebrate our 30th anniversary.  The gift for that number is diamond but I’ve got a new pen and a dollar store journal and we are going to sit down and feel the love.

(AND IF YOU WANT SEVEN MINUTES EVERY DAY FOR 5 WEEKS  JOIN ME FOR A BOOTCAMP THIS JANUARY THAT WILL GET THE MUSE SINGING IN YOUR EAR)

Now, get off the computer and sit down and write!
